Being a great lover of unexpected color and gems combinations, I have combined here raw lavender quartz, with turquoise and peach moonstones. These superior quality raws are from the famous Boquira Mine, located in the northern Brazilian state of Bahia and come from a trusted reputable supplier of mine. They have an amazing brilliance, brilliant vivid color with high transparency, absolutely gorgeous stones, one of my perosnal favourites. The natural ones like these are quite rare, but luckily I had secured a few pairs from this supplier of mine and have been using them in some of my pieces. The turquoise is rare Blue Ridge Turquoise from Nevada, from the notable Blue Ridge mine in Lander County (or else, Orvil jack mine), famous for producing high quality translucent blue nuggets. I must note here that I hand-hammered the metal passing throuh the turquoise and smaller faceted lavender quartz beads, it gives an amazing yet discreet shine. They all blend so beautifully with the tender peach moonstones, the latter having a gorgeous shimmer and adularescence.
I have crafted this pair using:
1 pair of natural untreated lavender quartz raws (approx. 50 carats in total, approx. 2cm in length each)
16 natural turquoise rounded nugget beads (approx. 3-5mm), they have been stabilized with the GIA-approved non-toxic non-plastic Zackery Process technology, to increase durability and resistance to oils
16 natural untreated faceted round lavender quartz balls (approx. 4mm)
1 pair of natural untreated peach moonstone bullet-style cut (approx. 29X7X7mm)
All metal used is 14K yellow gold-filled (brass base, nickel and lead free, containing 1/20th real gold which is bonded, not just plated/painted on, Made in the USA, very durable, of the finest quality)
Drop: approx. 7cm (including the ear wire)
A very distinct piece, made with genuine natural untreated gemstones.
This pair of earrings is a one-off piece, designed and handcrafted by Chrysi Z.
