I crafted this new pair around a rare turquoise cabochon pair from the legendary Number 8 mine, located in Eureka County, Nevada. Number 8 mine’s turquoise is valued among the turquoise collectors. This cabochon pair has a very interesting matrix of turqoise and golden brown and I thought it would look amazing if paired with hessonite garnet that has the same hue as the golden brown part. And it really does! I accentuated further the pair by adding some peridot. All natural and untreated gems, as always and all gems are of very high quality, with gorgeous saturated hues.
I have crafted this pair using:
2 natural untreated rare Number 8 Nevada turquoise cabochons (48X16X3mm)
2 mismatched natural untreated Mozambique hessonite garnet cushions (approx. 10 carats)
8 natural untreated faceted peridot pears (8X5X3mm)
Natural untreated hessonite garnet smooth rondelles (approx. 4mm)
All metal used is 14K yellow gold-filled (brass base, nickel and lead free, containing 1/20th real gold which is bonded, not just plated/painted on, Made in the USA, very durable)
Drop: approx. 8.5cm (including the ear wire)
A very distinct piece, made with genuine natural gemstones.
This pair of earrings is a one-off piece, designed and handcrafted by Chrysi Z.
